Bilbies are rabbit-sized marsupials, within a family known as bandicoots!

 

What is it?

Why are they Important?

One bilby can turn over more than 20 tons of soil a year! This enriches soil nutrients and increases water retention!
 

Why are they threatened?

The feral cat and fox represent the greatest threats, having already driven the Lesser Bilby to extinction by 1967.
